Uncertainty in the financial markets combined with a difficult economic environment fosters the demand for market integrity and efficiency. Both on the trading and the clearing layer, competition and regulatory changes massively impact the business models of banks, brokers and market infrastructure providers.
For trading, key challenges are the competition of execution venues in Europe, further increasing market shares of Algo Traders and the Dark versus Lit Pool discussion. For clearing, OTC derivatives and the measures to foster the usage of centralized infrastructures for these products as well as the related challenges for standardization are at the centre of the current industry debate.
The EFL-Spring Conference 2010 will focus on these challenges based on presentations and panel discussions among high-profile representatives of key industry players, regulators and academics.
